My first trip back to Lake Pepper since competition, Woke up saturday 13th and decided i wanted to head out to the bank and called cottington and there was one space so i booked on and thought i would be having to fish the new part. Packed my gear and headed off, paid my ticket and managed to get peg 5.
I started by walking around the other side and baiting the margins under the tree's and on the little clay patch near the reeds on the right. I put in about 2 kilo of New Winter bait and a spread of 20mm matrix broken up. I set up two rods 1 with Tutti Fruity pop up that went on the right hand side just under the tree and then 2nd rod i had with bottom bait topped with corn. I was fishing for about 3 hours and i had my first run. roar ripping run and i had contact. Took about 10 minutes to land this beast from the deep. It weighed in at 18.10lb but fought like a damn tope. This was my first ever fish on a pop on its own.
I sorted it all out took the pics and then set out to catch my next one it took till 1:20am till my next run and it was a screamer again, i caught a glimps of it and thought it was a 20+ but being dark i miss judged. Here is the pick of my second fish on a pop and well the face says it all lol. 16lb of pure shock value haha
After this i had one more pick up but it transfered the hook in to a snag or some sort and got away with it. Pretty good session concidering no one else caught that night and i was jammed between 5 people on the old part.
Role on the 1st of April here i come Chilham .....
Tight Lines all
